Infineon Technologies expands its Co-Innovation Space in Singapore, providing crucial support for startups in their product development journey. Collaborating with Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, the initiative aims to boost innovation in decarbonization and digitalization. The expanded space underscores Infineon’s commitment to fostering a sustainable future through innovation.

Leading semiconductor innovator, Infineon Technologies, has taken a significant leap in nurturing Asia’s burgeoning startup ecosystem by unveiling an expanded Co-Innovation Space in Singapore. The new facility is poised to accommodate more startups, promoting groundbreaking solutions across the Asia Pacific region. This move complements Infineon’s ongoing commitment to steering a sustainable and innovation-driven future.

At a recent event, OktoberTech™ Asia Pacific, Infineon showcased its enlarged Co-Innovation Space, underlining its dedication to supporting startups across Asia. The Co-Innovation Space is an integral component of Infineon’s global startup co-innovation program. It extends assistance to startups in their product development journey by providing essential semiconductor technology support, guidance, and mentorship. This unique facility in Singapore is tailored for a 12-month startup program with Infineon. Participants benefit from tapping into Infineon’s extensive ecosystem, which comprises customers and business partners across regions where Infineon operates.

Infineon has joined hands with Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) to invigorate the innovation landscape in Asia further. This collaboration focuses on solutions for decarbonization and digitalization and will involve the introduction of Korean startups to Infineon. These startups will have their innovative solutions evaluated and their engineering needs assessed. Selected startups will have the opportunity to engage in the global startup co-innovation program in Korea or become resident partners at the Co-Innovation Space in Singapore, enabling them to develop and test their solutions in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

CS Chua, President and Managing Director, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific

CS Chua, President and Managing Director, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, emphasized the importance of these initiatives: “We are on the brink of an era that hinges on transformative solutions for green and efficient energy, smart and secure IoT, and clean and safe mobility. Today’s announcement of a larger Co-Innovation Space and our partnership with KOSME reaffirms our commitment to shaping a sustainable future with our ecosystem.”

Since its launch in 2018, Infineon’s Co-Innovation Space has played a pivotal role in supporting startups by providing critical support, fostering technological collaboration, and imparting mentorship. The expansion of this space solidifies Singapore’s position as an innovation hub, becoming an attractive destination for startups looking to leverage Infineon’s resources and expertise.

Infineon has deep roots in Singapore, investing S$700 million in the past decade, making it the hub for smart factory solutions development and the global test center for automotive microcontroller units. The country is also a critical node in Infineon’s global distribution and a major microelectronics R&D hub in Asia.
