CoolGaN 400 V and CoolGaN 600 V: the newest industrial-grade devices from Infineon

Infineon Technologies AG has an efficient CoolGaNTM series of devices, which has been expanded with two additions: the CoolGaN 400 V device and the CoolGaN 600 V device. All the CoolGaN family products fulfill the JEDEC standards. Both the preceding devices can be presently ordered. In February 2020, the evaluation board EVAL_AUDAMP24 is expected to be available.

The features of CoolGaN 400 V device (IGT40R070D1 E8220) is suitable for premium HiFi audio systems where end users want every detail of their high-resolution soundtracks, a good substitute for bulky linear or tube amplifiers and ability to render excellent listening experience to the listening fans. It has enablement of smoother switching and more linear class D output stage because of low or linear Coss, zero Qrr, and normally-off switch. The ideal class D audio amplifiers provide zero percent distortion and 100 percent efficiency. Design simplification is attained by pairing with an HSOF-8-3 (TO-leadless) package with a famous class D controller (IRS20957STRPBF) in an evaluation board

The CoolGaN 600 V device (IGLD60R190D1) enables performance enhancement and cost optimization for low-power and mid-power applications and having a usage in low-power SMPS and Telecom rectifiers. It is having an extension with a new 190 mΩ, industrial-grade HEMT. Compatible with any consumer and industrial application with an optimized cost to decrease the technology entry barrier and support for easy design with a standardized DFN 8×8 packaging and matching driver ICs from the GaN EiceDRIVERTM series
