Speakers at "Catalysts of Change" Event by Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and ACHEMA, focusing on Industrial Growth and Sustainability

The collaborative effort of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and ACHEMA has culminated in the successful completion of the event, ‘Catalysts of Change: Navigating Industrial Growth and Sustainable Development.’ Conducted at The President in Mumbai on January 30, 2024, this event served as a crucial prelude to the globally acclaimed ACHEMA 2024, a leading forum and platform for the process industries scheduled for June 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany.

ACHEMA is one of the premier global platforms for chemical engineering, process engineering, and biotechnology, held every three years in Frankfurt. It showcases a diverse spectrum, ranging from laboratory equipment, pumps, and analytical devices to safety technology, materials, and software, meeting the comprehensive needs of the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food production industries. The accompanying congress features scientific lectures and partner events, enhancing the exhibition themes. The upcoming ACHEMA is scheduled from June 10 to 14, 2024, in Frankfurt am Main.

The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, established in 1956, is the primary liaison for Indian and German companies seeking business collaboration. AHK Indien facilitates economic relations between the two nations, fostering partnerships, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives across diverse industries.

The Catalysts of Change event focused on the process industries of Pharma and Chemical, bringing together prominent personalities from these sectors to create a platform for insightful discussions, collaborative initiatives, and networking opportunities. The event commenced with a welcome address by Ute Brockmann, the Deputy Director General of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, followed by a session on Indo-German relations by Achim Fabig, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai.

Subsequently, Abhay V Udeshi, Chairman, Jayant Agro Group, and Samir Shah, Director, Ciron Drugs and Pharmaceutical, led insightful sessions on the Chemical and Pharma industries. This was followed by a preview of ACHEMA 2024 and what attendees can expect, presented by Andreas Konert, Head of Business Development and Sales at DECHEMA Exhibitions, and a sneak peek into the upcoming Process Innovation Asia Pacific by Suman Bhowmick, India Portfolio Director of Constellar Exhibitions.

The event’s attendees, including esteemed speakers, actively engaged in exploring the critical theme of ‘Navigating Industrial Growth and Sustainable Development in process industries within the Indian landscape.’ The event adeptly addressed industry-specific challenges and opportunities, providing tailored insights to the attendees.
