India’s Pharmaceutical Industry Convenes for National GMP Conference at MedTech Zone

AMTZ

Industry experts, policymakers, and regulators gathered today at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) for a national conference focused on “Enhancing Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance through Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).” Organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers and AMTZ, the event highlighted GMP’s vital role in ensuring the production of safe, effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical products.

The conference emphasized that GMP goes beyond regulatory compliance, providing a comprehensive framework to guarantee product quality, safety, and effectiveness. Key discussions centered on how standardization, accurate documentation, and rigorous quality control practices can minimize risks such as contamination and defects. Industry leaders also underscored the importance of integrating GMP with emerging technologies to streamline processes and meet international standards.

In the competitive business landscape, attracting investment is essential for pharmaceutical companies seeking growth, enhanced products, and expanded market presence. Adopting GMP is a key factor in securing investment, as it signals commitment to high-quality standards and operational excellence.

Dr Nasir Jamal, Director of PHDCCI, commented, “GMP is fundamental in ensuring the production of high-quality, safe, and effective pharmaceutical products. With initiatives like GMP and the restructured RPTUAS, India’s pharmaceutical sector is poised to achieve global competitiveness while prioritizing public health.”
