The second edition of India Energy Week (IEW) is set to unfold in Goa from February 6-9, promising to be an important event in the world of energy. Organized against the coastal state, the conference is expected to host energy ministers from 17 different countries, draw over 35,000 attendees, and showcase the offerings of 900 exhibitors.

Following the success of the 2023 edition, India Energy Week 2024 is set to take place from 6 – 9 February 2024 in Goa, India. Under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and supported by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), it promises to be the country’s largest energy exhibition and conference. With over 35,000 attendees, 350 exhibitors, and 400 speakers from 100+ countries, the event aims to unite the energy value chain and drive India’s energy transition goals

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, addressing the media, highlighted the significance of the event. In an official statement, he remarked, “This time, we will have dedicated six pavilions, namely Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, UK, and USA.” Mr Puri also hinted at discussions surrounding the escalating tensions over the Red Sea and its potential impact on global trade.

Highlighting the importance of IEW as a platform for growth and development in the energy sector, Mr Puri also said that presently, India has shown confidence and positive growth across various energy fronts. The India Energy Week serves as a golden opportunity to highlight these advancements and establish a platform for continued expansion in the energy sector.

One notable feature of the upcoming conference is the inclusion of a special ‘Make in India’ pavilion, showcasing the innovation prowess of more than 300 exhibitors. These exhibitors, largely representing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the energy sector, will exhibit solutions aimed at contributing to India’s energy landscape.

The second edition of IEW incorporates a substantial increase in participation, with a 30% rise in exhibitors and a 25% expansion in exhibition space. Mr Puri announced as a consequence of this expansion, there has been a notable 46% rise in revenue generated from the exhibition. The impressive numbers indicate a growing interest and investment in the energy sector, reflecting a positive outlook for the future.

Private sector involvement has been a key driver of this success, with a remarkable rise in private sponsorship. Minister Puri also mentioned a substantial increase in private sponsorship, marked by an 81% rise in revenue from private firms and a 44% increase in the count of private sponsors. This surge in private sponsorship translates to three times the financial support compared to the previous year’s edition.

The ‘Make in India’ pavilion, a focal point of the conference, is expected to showcase innovative solutions from MSMEs. These solutions, ranging from sustainable energy practices to advance technologies, demonstrate the capacity of Indian businesses to contribute to the global energy area.

As the conference gears up for its second edition, the theme of sustainable energy solutions takes center stage. With an increasing focus on renewable energy sources and technology-driven advancements, IEW 2024 aims to be a catalyst for discussions and collaborations that will shape the future of the energy sector. The dedicated pavilions for Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, UK, and USA add an international flavor to the conference. It serves as an evidence to the global interest in India’s energy sector and the potential for international partnerships and collaborations.

In a reflection of the event’s growth trajectory, Minister Puri expressed, “The second edition is witnessing a 30% increase in exhibitors and a 25% expansion in exhibition space.” This expansion not only provides a larger platform for showcasing innovations but also indicates the growing importance and relevance of IEW on the global stage. India Energy Week 2024 is set to be a landmark event, bringing together nations, industry leaders, and innovators to shape the future of the energy sector.
