AM Green and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at creating a large-scale green energy corridor between India and Northwestern Europe. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to support the transport and distribution of low-carbon fuels, including sustainable marine fuels and aviation fuels, through Europe’s leading energy gateway—Rotterdam.

This alliance will explore the development of key infrastructure both at the port and along the entire route, enabling the safe handling and storage of hydrogen-based fuels. It also seeks to connect India’s upcoming net-zero industrial zones to European demand centers, with plans to enable up to one million tons of annual exports. The anticipated trade could reach a value of around USD 1 billion per year.

AM Green is advancing plans to produce five million tons of green ammonia by 2030, equivalent to about one million tons of green hydrogen, with production set to begin in Kakinada. The Port of Rotterdam, which handles 13% of Europe’s total energy intake, plays a critical role as a distribution and hydrogen logistics center across the continent. Through this collaboration, both partners aim to support national and regional decarbonization efforts—specifically, India’s Green Hydrogen Mission and the European Union’s climate targets.

Boudewijn Siemons, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, commented, “This agreement with AM Green represents an important move toward building a secure and sustainable energy connection between Europe and India. Rotterdam’s strategic location and infrastructure, combined with India’s potential to supply clean energy at scale, create a powerful partnership for the energy transition.”

Anil Chalamalasetty, Founder of AM Green and the Greenko Group, added, “This milestone agreement reflects our broader vision to build a global green energy network. It will facilitate the smooth transport of clean fuels from India to Europe and solidify our position as a key player in the global effort to lower emissions across industries.”

Located at the heart of European trade and industry, the Port of Rotterdam is a vital logistics hub serving the Netherlands and beyond. Its extensive infrastructure and connectivity make it a central point for energy imports and industrial activity. The authority continues to invest in sustainable development and aims to establish a climate-neutral port in the coming decades.

Backed by the founders of the Greenko Group, AM Green is one of India’s foremost companies focused on clean energy. With a strong foundation in renewable power generation, it is now scaling up efforts to produce sustainable fuels such as green hydrogen, green ammonia, biofuels, and aviation fuel. By targeting a five million ton annual output of green ammonia by 2030, AM Green is positioning itself at the forefront of the global energy transition.
