Imagimob, now a subsidiary of Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), is introducing IMAGIMOB Ready Models, comprehensive machine learning (ML) solutions specifically designed to be robust, high-performing, and readily deployable for edge devices, in pursuit of its mission to facilitate efficient market entry for smart devices. This strategic initiative aims to minimize the complexities associated with custom ML development, offering a quick and cost-effective alternative for integrating AI capabilities into existing microcontroller (MCU) hardware, such as PSoC™ 6, without the need for extensive time, expertise, or financial investment.
Imagimob is initially launching four audio-based Ready Models, catering to diverse applications. These include Baby Cry for baby monitors, Siren Detection for pedestrian safety, and Coughing Detection and Snoring Detection designed for wearable devices in the medtech and health sectors. The company is also actively developing additional models within Audio, Radar, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), and Capacitive Sensing domains.
To ensure the reliability of the Ready Models, Imagimob employs a meticulous testing process. The models undergo comprehensive testing across a spectrum of scenarios, ensuring robustness and adaptability. These scenarios are not limited to specific geographical or ethnic conditions, promoting unbiased performance. Additionally, field testing on actual devices allows for realistic performance assessments in expected hardware setups, resulting in models that deliver precisely as intended in real-world applications.

Sam Al-Attiyah, Head of Customer Success at Imagimob, emphasized the distinctive nature of the Ready Models in the competitive Edge AI landscape. He noted, “If you look at the Edge AI space right now, you can probably count on one hand how many companies provide off-the-shelf models for any one solution. Our Ready Models are built upon eight years of expertise and thoroughly tested out in the field in different environments, so they are validated in terms of performance. And the fact that we are running them on small edge devices is really unique.”
The Ready Models initiative serves as a catalyst for companies aiming to infuse smart AI features into their products. Traditional custom ML model development processes pose significant barriers, demanding specialized software engineering and AI expertise, as well as substantial investments of time and resources. This extensive process involves collecting, validating, and labeling data, followed by training models, deploying them on devices, and comprehensive testing across diverse environments.
In contrast, IMAGIMOB Ready Models offer a streamlined path to market entry. With minimal engineering and AI expertise required, companies can bypass the substantial investment and time associated with custom model development. Anders Hardebring, CEO at Imagimob, highlighted the efficiency gains, stating, “This is a much easier way for companies to begin their ML journeys – they don’t have to make such a big investment to start using it on their edge devices. Depending on the skillset and expertise in a company, developing a custom model for production typically takes six months to a year. With our Ready Models, they can have new Edge AI features up and running essentially overnight.”
The availability of IMAGIMOB Ready Models represents a significant leap in simplifying the integration of AI capabilities into edge devices. The models are now available for purchase, providing an accessible solution for companies across various industries. Imagimob, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, has been at the forefront of Edge AI and tiny machine learning innovation since 2013. Serving global customers within the automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, and lifestyle industries, Imagimob launched the IMAGIMOB Studio platform in 2020. IMAGIMOB Studio facilitates the swift and easy end-to-end development of Edge AI applications for devices with constrained resources. In May 2023, Imagimob became part of Infineon Technologies AG, a global semiconductor leader in power systems and IoT. Infineon is committed to driving decarbonization and digitalization through its products and solutions, generating approximately €16.3 billion in revenue in the 2023 fiscal year.
The introduction of IMAGIMOB Ready Models showcases Imagimob’s dedication to advancing AI and embedded technologies. The strategic collaboration with Infineon reinforces Imagimob’s market leadership and commitment to staying at the forefront of the latest research and innovations within the AI landscape.
