IIT Madras Collaborates with Renault Nissan Tech for Student Development and Industry Engagement

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has entered into an agreement with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Pvt Ltd (Renault Nissan Tech) to provide internships, placement opportunities, and academic enrichment for its students, according to an official announcement on Friday. Renault Nissan Tech, the captive center for Renault and Nissan, supports the global operations of the two automakers.

Under the partnership, approximately 35,000 students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at IIT Madras will benefit from mentorship programs, viva sessions, and leadership talks conducted by experts from Renault Nissan Tech. “We are thrilled to sign this MoU with Renault Nissan Tech. It exemplifies IIT Madras’ commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. Together, we are setting a precedent for collaborative engagements,” said Professor Prathap Haridoss, Dean of Academic Courses at IIT Madras.

The collaboration also allows Renault Nissan Tech employees to participate in advanced learning through programs offered by the IIT Madras Centre for Outreach and Digital Education, including executive education and certification courses. “This partnership strengthens our shared goal of fostering a talent ecosystem that empowers students, enhances professional skills, and addresses the evolving challenges in the automotive and technology sectors,” stated Debashis Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech.

Located in Chennai, the center plays a crucial role in research, development, and digital transformation, supporting the Alliance’s global operations.
