IIT Kanpur Partners with Zynetic to Enhance EV Charging Technology

IIT Kanpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Pvt. Ltd., a company specializing in the development and management of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This partnership aims to drive innovation in the development and deployment of advanced AC and DC fast chargers, contributing to the growth of India’s EV infrastructure.

Zynetic is committed to delivering sustainable, high-performance charging solutions for the electric vehicle sector. With expertise in EV charging technology, Zynetic seeks to accelerate India’s transition to sustainable energy by improving EV infrastructure.

The collaboration will focus on research, academic exchange, and consultancy in key areas such as power electronics, embedded systems, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive maintenance. By combining IIT Kanpur’s research capabilities with Zynetic’s practical industry experience, the partnership aims to create efficient, next-generation EV chargers that meet the demands of India’s expanding EV market.

Prof Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with Zynetic showcases how academia and industry can collaborate to enhance EV infrastructure and support India’s environmental targets. Achieving the government’s 30% EV adoption target by 2030 will require extensive charging infrastructure, and this collaboration is an important step in that direction.”

Prof Tarun Gupta, Dean of R&D at IIT Kanpur, emphasized the potential for technological advancements, saying, “By leveraging IIT Kanpur’s research strengths and Zynetic’s industry expertise, we aim to develop cutting-edge solutions in power electronics, predictive maintenance, and AI integration to revolutionize EV charging.”
