igus, the motion plastics specialist, has introduced the latest version of its readycable finder—a streamlined online tool designed to simplify drive cable selection. With just one input, users can now find the optimal cable for their needs, balancing quality and affordability. The tool also integrates the chainflex service life calculator, which accurately estimates each cable’s longevity.
igus offers over 6,000 drive cables compatible with 38 manufacturer standards, giving customers extensive choices. The new readycable finder allows users to input their motor’s part number, automatically matching it to the appropriate readycable product. Customers can select from up to seven cable quality levels tailored to various operating conditions, including different jacket materials and specialized specifications. Real-time information on pricing, cost savings from chainflex cable quality options, and delivery times is also available, facilitating fast online orders. The integrated chainflex service life calculator provides an estimate of the cable’s durability.
“Our readycable finder was created to help customers and our sales team quickly and cost-effectively choose the best cable,” said Markus Hüffel, Product Manager of readycable & readychain at igus. “With an improved interface, users receive essential details—from product specs to shipment readiness—in no time.”
New Chainflex Service Life Calculator Launched for SPS 2024
igus has also upgraded its chainflex service life calculator, timed for SPS 2024 in Nuremberg. This tool uses real test data from igus’s 4,000 m² test lab and AI-powered calculations to predict cable life precisely. Users input factors like travel distance, speed, acceleration, and bending radius to instantly receive a tailored durability estimate. A downloadable warranty certificate based on application parameters and calculated cycle numbers is also provided.
Rainer Rössel, Head of the chainflex Cable Business Unit at igus, explained, “The service life calculator helps our customers find the ideal cable—cost-efficient and sustainable—for their specific applications.”
