IdeaForge Technology Ltd, a leading drone solutions company, has introduced its latest mapping drone, designed for a wide range of applications including glacier studies, urban infrastructure surveys, dense forest mapping, and monitoring of industrial corridors. The global launch, held during the company’s first customer event, marks a key milestone in IdeaForge’s mission to provide industries, government agencies, and researchers with advanced aerial mapping and intelligence tools.

The newly developed survey-grade UAV—built for “map-anywhere, anytime” operations—features all-terrain adaptability, a flight time exceeding 50 minutes with a LiDAR payload, and a take-off weight of under 7 kg. Named Q6V2 GEO, the platform enables urban planners to create detailed 3D city models, conduct infrastructure audits, and assists the mining industry in calculating volumes and generating automated compliance reports. It also supports utility companies in tower inspections and vegetation risk assessments.

Ankit Mehta, CEO of IdeaForge Technology, said “The Q6V2 GEO and our complete geospatial technology stack represent a major step forward in aerial intelligence. Whether mapping remote glaciers or surveying dense cityscapes, this platform is built to deliver accuracy, endurance, and reliability across the toughest terrains and climates. It reflects our commitment to pushing the boundaries of geospatial innovation.” As a player in the Indian unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry, ideaForge is committed to delivering state-of-the-art drones designed for exceptional performance, autonomy, and reliability. Our mission-first approach drives innovation across key sectors such as security, mapping, surveillance, and disaster response, enabling both military and enterprise applications to achieve new levels of efficiency and capability.

With the largest operational deployment of indigenous UAVs in India, an ideaForge drone takes flight every 3 minutes, contributing to over 6,50,000 successful missions. Recognized as the 3rd largest dual-use drone manufacturer globally by Drone Industry Insights (DRONEII) Global Drone Review 2024, we continue to raise the bar for industry standards.

Since our debut with India’s first VTOL UAVs in 2009, we have expanded our footprint with cutting-edge R&D and manufacturing hubs in Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and the USA. Backed by leading investors like Qualcomm, Infosys, Celesta Capital, and others, ideaForge remains at the forefront of UAV innovation and the future of unmanned systems.
