Drone technology company, IdeaForge, has won an order valued at approximately ₹137 crore from the Indian Army for hybrid mini unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems, following the emergency procurement process, the firm announced on Monday. The company explained that one of the key criteria for selecting the UAVs was the requirement that all critical components be sourced from countries that do not share borders with India, while ensuring the platform was primarily designed and manufactured in India.
In a statement, IdeaForge said, “This is a significant achievement under the emergency procurement route. The Indian Army has placed an order for our high-performance hybrid mini UAVs, which have already been battle-tested and are now part of the Army’s operational fleet for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.”
