ICEMA Unveils New Executive Team for 2025–27

The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) has announced its newly elected leadership for the 2025–2027 term. The appointments were finalized during the Governing Council meeting held in New Delhi on August 13, 2025.

Deepak Shetty, CEO & Managing Director of JCB India Ltd, has taken over as President, succeeding V Vivekanand of Caterpillar India Pvt Ltd. With more than 30 years of international leadership experience, Mr Shetty previously held the position of President-Designate from 2023 to 2025. During that time, he played a key role in shaping the industry’s approach to sustainability and the shift towards clean energy. He continues to emphasize the importance of international collaboration and a supportive policy environment to accelerate growth in India’s construction equipment sector.

Ramesh Palagiri, Managing Director & CEO of Wirtgen India Pvt Ltd, has been named President-Designate. As head of ICEMA’s SMART Infra Panel, Mr Palagiri has led efforts to promote advanced technologies and boost construction equipment exports by improving access to global markets.

Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director – India & SAARC for CASE Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd, has stepped into the role of Vice President. He previously served as Convener of the Human Capital Panel, where he organized the industry’s first Human Capital Summit and oversaw the release of the 2024–25 Human Capital Trends Report.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has been appointed Treasurer. In his prior role as Co-Convener of the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Panel, he was instrumental in driving policy recommendations on local sourcing and supplier development. His contributions also supported the formulation of the National Capital Goods Policy 2025.

Together, the newly appointed leaders will focus on ICEMA’s long-term objective of positioning India as the world’s second-largest market for construction equipment by 2030. This goal aligns with the broader Viksit Bharat @2047 vision to establish India as a global infrastructure powerhouse.

Founded in 1949, ICEMA represents over 150 member organizations, including 95% of India’s original equipment manufacturers and component suppliers. As an industry body, it supports initiatives in policy advocacy, skills development, and sustainability to help drive the development of world-class infrastructure across the country.
