The International Aerospace Manufacturing Pvt Ltd (IAMPL), a joint venture between Rolls-Royce and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), is looking to expand its manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu. Kishore Jayaraman, president of Rolls-Royce India and South Asia, said they are considering setting up four or five new units in Hosur or other locations in the state.
IAMPL’s current operations in Hosur benefit from good infrastructure, skilled workers, excellent academic support, and good governance. The company manufactures complex components for civil and defense aero-engines, with around 200 engineers working in its Bengaluru and Hosur units.
Jayaraman mentioned that expanding the manufacturing base would significantly increase job opportunities. He also emphasized IAMPL’s focus on operational excellence and using India’s supply chain strengths to be a top supply chain partner in the global aerospace industry.
