Hyundai Motor Group has joined forces with Nvidia to develop next-generation mobility solutions and advanced manufacturing systems using artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies. The collaboration focuses on integrating AI into key Hyundai products, such as software-defined vehicles, robotics, and smart manufacturing processes, to enhance safety, efficiency, and innovation.

“Hyundai Motor Group is exploring innovative AI technologies across various sectors such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart manufacturing,” said Heung-Soo Kim, executive vice president and head of the global strategy office at Hyundai Motor Group. “This collaboration will accelerate our progress, positioning us as leaders in AI-driven mobility innovation.”

Hyundai Motor Group plans to leverage Nvidia’s data-center-level computing and infrastructure to effectively manage the large volumes of data necessary for training advanced AI models and creating a robust autonomous vehicle (AV) software stack. Through the NVIDIA Omniverse platform running on Nvidia OVX systems, Hyundai Motor Group will integrate a digital thread across its software tools to enable precise product design and prototyping in a digital twin environment. This will enhance engineering efficiency, reduce costs, and speed up time to market.

The Group will also collaborate with Nvidia to create simulated environments for the development and validation of autonomous driving systems and self-driving applications. Simulation plays a crucial role in the safe deployment of AVs, allowing for comprehensive testing under a variety of weather, traffic, and location conditions, as well as rare or hazardous scenarios.

Hyundai Motor Group will develop digital twin applications using Omniverse technologies to optimize both current and future manufacturing lines through simulation. These digital twins will enhance production quality, reduce costs, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency. Additionally, the company will utilize Nvidia Isaac Sim, a robotics simulation framework built on Omniverse, to design and train industrial robots for safe deployment in its factories.

Nvidia’s AI tools and libraries for automated manufacturing are helping advance robotics intelligence, enabling Hyundai Motor Group to conduct robot training in highly accurate virtual environments. This will optimize manufacturing processes and improve quality, while facilitating more intuitive interactions between robots and their real-world environments, ensuring safe collaboration with human workers. With Nvidia’s technology, Hyundai Motor Group aims to develop safer, smarter vehicles, enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality, and deploy cutting-edge robotics to create a more connected and intelligent digital workplace.
