Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has signed an agreement with Charge Zone to install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 Hyundai dealerships across India. Jae Wan Ryu of HMIL and Kartikey Hariyani of Charge Zone signed the deal at HMIL’s headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
This partnership aims to improve EV charging infrastructure, making it easier for people to travel within and between cities. Hyundai already has 34 EV fast charging stations and 19 dealerships with DC 60 kW chargers. With this new partnership, 100 more charging stations will be added, making it more convenient for EV users. These stations can be accessed through the ‘myHyundai’ app or the ‘ChargeZone’ app.
Jae Wan Ryu of HMIL said, “Strengthening EV charging infrastructure is crucial for promoting electric mobility and addressing range anxiety. Our partnership with Charge Zone will enhance our EV charging network, benefiting all EV users and supporting India’s carbon neutrality goals.” Kartikey Hariyani of Charge Zone added, “Our collaboration with Hyundai aims to improve infrastructure for 4-Wheeler Electric Vehicles, ensuring reliable and seamless access to charging stations.”
HMIL also operates 15 fast charging stations across key cities and highways in nine Indian states. Their “EV Charge” management system, within the “myHyundai” app, helps users locate charging points, book slots, monitor remotely, and make digital payments. Charge Zone’s chargers are also integrated into this app.
