Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has launched the second phase of its ‘Vidya Vahini Program,’ aimed at enhancing education for government school students in remote rural areas of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

This initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy and focuses on improving the quality of education in underserved regions. Building on the success of the program’s first phase, which benefited 10,000 students across five districts in Uttar Pradesh, the expansion includes the introduction of 5 Mobile Science Libraries and 15 Labs on Bikes.

HMIF has invested ₹2.38 crore in the program so far, aiming to reach 30,000 students in 14 districts across Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. These mobile units will visit various government schools, providing students with resources to enhance their understanding of science.

Puneet Anand, Head of Corporate Communication and Social at HMIL, expressed satisfaction with the program’s impact, noting its success in benefiting thousands of students. Sandeep Singh, Minister of State for Primary Education in Uttar Pradesh, praised the initiative as a positive step towards promoting education in rural India, expressing hope that it will inspire others to undertake similar efforts.

The program, in partnership with the Agastya Foundation, also plans to organize science fairs and offer training to teachers on the latest educational materials and scientific models, ensuring that students continue to receive quality education.

The Vidya Vahini Program, initially launched in 2022 in Uttar Pradesh, has already made significant strides, with numerous district-level science fairs and upskilling programs for teachers, aiming to sustain long-term educational benefits for students.
