At the 2025 FISITA World Mobility Conference (WMC), Hyundai Motor Group reaffirmed its commitment to driving the future of mobility and technological innovation. The event, held from June 3 to 5 at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, brought together key figures from the automotive industry to discuss sustainable mobility solutions.

FISITA, the world’s largest network of automotive engineering societies, has represented academic institutions from 36 countries and connected over 210,000 researchers since its founding in 1948. The biennial conference attracts around 2,000 industry leaders, executives, and engineers.

As a prime partner of FISITA WMC, Hyundai showcased its ongoing leadership in sustainable mobility through networking opportunities, technical sessions, paper presentations, and a dedicated exhibition. Hyundai Motor Company President and CEO José Muñoz set the stage for the event with his keynote address, emphasizing the company’s commitment to innovation in mobility.

“I’m honored to share Hyundai’s journey in mobility and to engage with such a distinguished group of industry leaders and engineers at FISITA,” Mr Muñoz said. “Under the guidance of Hyundai’s Executive Chair, we continue to push the boundaries of technology to enhance the way people and goods move—more safely, sustainably, and conveniently. I also want to congratulate my colleague ChangHwan Kim for being named the first Korean president of FISITA.”

During the conference, Chang Hwan Kim, Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Vice President and Head of Electrification Energy Solutions Tech Unit, was appointed president of FISITA. Kim will lead the organization until May 2027, overseeing the Executive Board and various committees.

The conference also featured a special technical session hosted by Hyundai Motor Group from June 4 to 5, where the company presented its latest advancements and collaborative research with European partners. Topics discussed included the use of driving simulators for virtual performance testing, innovations in bushing technologies for improved EV ride comfort, and advancements in chassis reliability for software-defined vehicles through prognostics and health management.

Hyundai’s exhibit at the conference focused on the theme “Clearly Committed, FCEV Technology,” featuring the new NEXO and an enhanced fuel cell system. This showcased Hyundai Motor Group’s leadership in hydrogen-powered vehicles and reinforced its dedication to advancing innovation across the mobility sector.

Through its participation in the FISITA WMC, Hyundai aims to foster global academic collaboration in mobility research and solidify its position as a leader in the automotive industry. The company remains aligned with its vision of “Progress for Humanity,” striving to drive positive change through technological and sustainable solutions.
