Hyundai Motor Company’s President and CEO, José Muñoz, held his first town hall meeting at the Namyang R&D Center in South Korea on February 21, 2025, emphasizing Hyundai’s commitment to customer service, product quality, and technological innovation. Over 800 employees attended in person, with the event livestreamed globally to Hyundai offices.
During the session, Muñoz shared insights from his first two months as CEO, outlining Hyundai’s approach to electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving, and strategic industry partnerships. He underscored the importance of delivering high-quality, well-designed vehicles while prioritizing exceptional customer service.
“Our success depends on providing customers with the technology and experiences they truly value. We must treat them as honored guests and continue to innovate with a focus on quality and reliability,” Muñoz stated.
Addressing questions on EV adoption, he highlighted Hyundai’s diverse powertrain strategy, which includes hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), extended-range EVs, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and internal combustion engines, ensuring solutions that cater to different global markets. The event coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Namyang R&D Center, a 3.47 million-square-meter facility serving as Hyundai’s global research and development hub.
The center drives innovation in software development, design, engineering, and vehicle testing, reinforcing Hyundai’s leadership in automotive technology. The town hall was attended by key executives, including Heui Won Yang, President and Head of R&D, and Hae In Kim, Executive Vice President and Chief HR Officer.
