Amid a renewed surge of optimism in India’s early-stage investment landscape following a measured 2024, Hyderabad Angel Fund (haf.vc) has launched a ₹100 crore venture capital program to back emerging startups with high growth potential across the country. Registered with SEBI as a Category I Venture Capital Fund, HAF aims to provide not just capital but also hands-on mentorship to founders, strengthening the regional venture capital ecosystem and accelerating innovation-led entrepreneurship.

Building on the decade-long foundation of the Hyderabad Angels Network, one of India’s most established angel investor communities, the fund blends the flexibility of angel investing with the rigor of institutional venture capital. HAF plans to invest in 15 to 20 startups spanning dynamic sectors such as Generative AI, Gaming, SpaceTech, Drones, HealthTech, Consumer Technology, FinTech, Enterprise SaaS, and Sustainability. Each investment will typically range between ₹2 crore and ₹4 crore, with provisions for follow-on funding to help scalable ventures expand. The fund has already completed one investment and issued term sheets to three additional startups.

“India’s early-stage ecosystem is regaining momentum, and regional venture funds are key to sustaining this revival,” said Kalyan Sivalenka, Managing Director of Hyderabad Angel Fund. “Through this ₹100 crore initiative, our goal is to identify credible founders across India and support them in building businesses that combine innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth.”

HAF has already secured 62% of its target corpus and is in the final stages of raising its first institutional commitment — a milestone that reflects strong investor confidence in its approach. The ₹100 crore fund also includes a ₹50 crore green-shoe option, highlighting investor appetite for participation in India’s expanding early-stage innovation economy.

Though rooted in Hyderabad’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, haf.vc operates with a national mandate. It draws strength from a network of accomplished entrepreneurs, industry veterans, and investors who provide both strategic insight and operational expertise. The fund’s investment philosophy is built on six pillars — market scalability, founder credibility, innovation potential, customer reach, ecosystem depth, and sustainable value creation.

“India’s startup growth story is now extending beyond traditional metropolitan hubs,” noted Rathnakar Samavedam, Investment Director and Compliance Officer at Hyderabad Angel Fund. “By combining institutional funding with mentorship and collaboration, we aim to foster a more inclusive and regionally diverse startup ecosystem.” With this new ₹100 crore initiative, Hyderabad Angel Fund seeks to play a pivotal role in India’s early-stage revival, backing visionary founders and scalable ventures that are positioned to create lasting economic and social value.
