Husk Power Systems, a provider of solar minigrid solutions, has launched BEEM, a dedicated rooftop solar service designed for residential use across India. The new platform offers end-to-end photovoltaic (PV) solutions tailored for individual homeowners, drawing on the company’s experience in solar technology design, installation, and long-term service delivery.

BEEM’s offerings are structured to address specific residential requirements, including accurate system sizing, optimized space utilization, and real-time access to power generation data. The service allows users to assess their needs, select appropriate products, and schedule installation entirely through a digital interface.

The service launches with two initial products—Aura and Eternia—designed for flat rooftop configurations, which are common in many regions of India. BEEM also provides access to financing options through its partner network and offers assistance with government subsidy applications and net metering processes.

The launch aligns with the objectives of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, a national program aiming to install rooftop solar systems in 10 million households, with a cumulative target of 30 GW by 2027. The initiative includes financial subsidies, low-interest loans, and a simplified application procedure, aimed at accelerating residential adoption.

Despite policy support, residential solar adoption has historically been hindered by high upfront costs, limited access to reliable providers, and complexity in system selection and installation. BEEM seeks to address these challenges by offering a standardized and streamlined customer experience, supported by Husk’s AI-enabled digital platform.

Initially, BEEM will focus on deployments in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. According to Husk Power Systems, the long-term vision for BEEM includes integration with emerging distributed energy models, including virtual power plants (VPPs), to enable decentralized energy production and trading at the household level.
