The Data Center Intelligence Group (DCIG), an independent technology research organization, has included Huawei’s OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage in its 2025–2026 list of top 10PB+ NAS systems with advanced cybersecurity features. The report highlights Huawei’s offering for its robust data protection capabilities and performance in high-capacity storage environments.
DCIG expects the global NAS market to nearly triple over the next seven years. This projected growth, however, also increases the importance of data protection—particularly against ransomware. As a result, organizations are placing greater focus on resilience-related features such as secure snapshots, encryption, access controls, and threat detection when selecting NAS solutions.
Huawei’s OceanStor Dorado was noted for strong performance in these areas. The system includes layered ransomware defense that works before, during, and after an attack, with detection accuracy reported at up to 99.99%. Technologies like embedded honeypots and Air Gap further protect stored data.
The architecture, built on Huawei’s SmartMatrix Full-Mesh design, delivers high system availability with a claimed reliability of 99.99999%. It also supports multi-site disaster recovery configurations, allowing upgrades from single-node setups to larger, geographically distributed environments.
Performance-wise, the OceanStor Dorado benefits from the OceanFS file system, which uses advanced metadata management and file balancing techniques to improve access times. The system reportedly outperforms comparable solutions by up to 30% when handling large volumes of small files.
This recognition marks another year that Huawei’s NAS storage has been featured in DCIG’s rankings. Huawei continues to focus on developing storage infrastructure designed to meet growing enterprise needs for speed, security, and operational stability across diverse sectors.
