Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced a new virtualization capability for its HPE Private Cloud. This technology combines open-source KVM with HPE’s cluster orchestration software, enhancing performance and availability for enterprise workloads.
Key features include:
- Cloud-based management, reducing the need for on-premises resources
- High availability, even without cloud connectivity
- Efficient power conversion, lowering costs
HPE’s virtualization technology is designed for easy management, with automated operations, quick VM provisioning, and integrated data protection. It also includes HPE Alletra Storage MP, offering high performance and efficient data reduction.
Customers can use HPE Private Cloud for virtual machines, containers, and bare metal, integrating with HPE’s data protection, cyber resiliency, and AI-powered IT operations. This is part of HPE’s GreenLake cloud platform.
HPE is the first to offer a full suite of hybrid cloud capabilities, including modular infrastructure, network virtualization, data mobility, and multi-cloud services. The new virtualization technology will be available in the second half of 2024 as part of HPE Private Cloud Business Edition.
