Honeywell has announced the launch of its 50 Series CCTV products, marking the company’s first locally designed and manufactured camera portfolio in India. This move is aligned with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, with the cameras being entirely conceptualized, designed, and produced in India. The cameras have earned Class 1 certification, the highest level under the government’s ‘Make in India’ policy.
Created to meet the increasing demand for intelligent, high-quality, and cyber-secure surveillance systems in the region, the 50 Series was developed at Honeywell’s global development center in Bengaluru. The cameras are manufactured through a collaboration with VVDN Technologies, a leading Indian Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, who also contributed to the hardware design.
“We are excited to introduce this new product line that reflects our commitment to advancing the security solutions landscape in India. It also demonstrates our ongoing investment in the country’s growth and highlights the strength of our local engineering capabilities and partnerships,” said Vimal Kapur, CEO and Chairman of Honeywell.
To commemorate the launch, Mr Kapur met with Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, along with senior executives from Honeywell and VVDN Technologies in New Delhi.
“The Indian economy is on a consistent growth path. We are working towards making India a ‘product nation.’ These locally-made CCTV cameras are an important step in that direction. We encourage industries to design, make, and innovate in India, with a focus on the global market,” said Shri Vaishnaw.
The 50 Series CCTV cameras have been specifically built to cater to India’s unique security challenges. They offer intelligent video analytics for proactive threat detection, enhanced imaging capabilities, and gyro sensor-based image stabilization. These cameras also feature robust cybersecurity measures, addressing the evolving security needs of critical infrastructure across sectors such as government, healthcare, education, transportation, commercial spaces, and real estate.
The camera range includes models with 3MP and 5MP resolution options, available in both dome and bullet styles.
Honeywell’s latest product launch expands on its 2024 acquisition of Carrier’s Global Access Solutions business, which included LenelS2. This acquisition enhanced Honeywell’s portfolio of physical security solutions, including access control, video surveillance, and mobile credentialing. With the addition of the 50 Series CCTV cameras, Honeywell is well-positioned to be a leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for electronic security needs across various industries and market segments.
