Honeywell Technologies has announced leadership changes across its Process Technology and Building Automation businesses, with Billal Hammoud appointed President and CEO of Process Technology and Juan Picon named President and CEO of Building Automation, effective October 1, 2026. Mr Hammoud will succeed Ken West, who will leave Honeywell Technologies on August 31, 2026, to pursue an external opportunity. Picon will succeed Hammoud as President and CEO of Building Automation. Both executives will report to Vimal Kapur, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell Technologies.
The appointments come as Honeywell Technologies continues to strengthen its businesses and focus on growth, operational performance, customer service and new technology. “Billal elevated Building Automation into one of our clearest examples of accelerated growth, disciplined transformation, customer-centered execution and new product innovation,” Mr Kapur said. He added that Hammoud’s experience in strategy, operations and mergers and acquisitions would support Process Technology’s next phase of growth.
Mr Kapur also highlighted Picon’s more than two decades of experience with Honeywell Technologies and his work in strengthening the company’s regional operations in the Americas. “Juan brings more than two decades of Honeywell Technologies experience combining measurable business impact with a clear commitment to our customers and culture,” he said.
Since becoming President and CEO of Building Automation in 2023, Mr Hammoud has increased the business’ annual organic growth from 2% in 2023 to 8% in 2025. Under his leadership, the business recorded seven consecutive quarters of high-single-digit organic growth and margin expansion. Mr Hammoud also strengthened the focus on higher-growth markets, introduced a regional operating structure and expanded the use of products such as Honeywell Forge Connected Buildings.
Before leading Building Automation, Mr Hammoud served as President and General Manager of Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions within Honeywell Technologies Performance Materials and Technologies. He previously held senior positions in Thermal Solutions and Combustion Controls and also worked in leadership roles at ESAB.
Mr Picon returned to Honeywell Technologies in 2024 as President of the Fire Life Safety business before becoming President of Building Automation Americas. In his current role, he has increased customer engagement and expanded the focus on healthcare, hospitality and data centres.
Before returning to Honeywell Technologies, Mr Picon held senior positions at Sensata Technologies, WESCO Distribution and General Cable. He previously spent more than 18 years with Honeywell Technologies in leadership roles across several business segments, including automation and controls.
Mr Picon received Honeywell Technologies’ Chairman’s Award in 2025, the company’s highest employee recognition for outstanding performance. Mr Kapur thanked West for his leadership and contribution to Process Technology and wished him success in his future plans.
