Honeywell and AM Green have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at India Energy Week 2025 to explore the potential of producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from ethanol, green methanol sourced from various CO₂ emissions, and green hydrogen. This partnership aligns with Honeywell’s focus on addressing key global trends, including the energy transition.

Ashish Modi, President of Honeywell India, remarked, “This collaboration with AM Green will help India lead the way in low-carbon technologies, aligning with government SAF blending mandates and advancing India’s position as an innovator in sustainable fuels.”

Mahesh Kolli, Co-Founder and Group President of AM Green, expressed, “Partnering with Honeywell positions AM Green as a key player in the clean energy transition. Our collaboration supports India’s goal to become a major exporter of cost-effective, sustainable green fuels, accelerating global industrial decarbonization.” The collaboration between the companies is focused on strengthening India’s energy security by reducing the country’s dependence on crude oil imports. By leveraging their combined expertise, the partnership seeks to position India as a key exporter of green methanol, helping to drive the global adoption of low-emission fuels in the shipping industry. This initiative supports the country’s broader goals of energy independence and sustainability.

Additionally, the companies aim to assist airlines in meeting the international CORSIA regulations, which mandate the use of low-carbon, drop-in fuel alternatives. By advancing the production of green methanol and sustainable aviation fuels, the partnership plays a crucial role in enabling the aviation sector to reduce its carbon footprint and comply with global environmental standards.

The collaboration also supports Indian farmers by increasing demand for ethanol feedstocks and aligns with the Indian government’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, aimed at boosting green hydrogen production for both domestic and international markets. The feasibility study is expected to be completed by mid-2025, marking a significant milestone toward large-scale decarbonization.

AM Green, a subsidiary of the AM Green Group, founded by the Greenko founders, is focused on producing ammonia using renewable energy sources. Its products, including Green Ammonia, Green Hydrogen, Green Methanol, and others, provide vital components for industries to transition to more sustainable practices.
