Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has proudly announced that it has reached a remarkable milestone of 1 crore cumulative two-wheeler sales in the central region of India, which encompasses Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh. This achievement, according to Honda, underscores the company’s enduring presence in the area and solidifies its status as a leading player in the local automotive market.
Since entering the Indian market in 2001 with the introduction of the iconic Activa scooter, HMSI has experienced consistent growth. The recent milestone is a testament to the company’s expansive customer base and the invaluable support of its extensive dealer network. HMSI had previously achieved 50 lakh sales in the central region by 2017, and the company has impressively doubled that figure in less than seven years, bringing its total sales to over 1 crore.
The Honda Activa continues to hold the title of the best-selling model for HMSI in this region, demonstrating its enduring popularity among consumers. Following the Activa are the Shine 125 and SP125 models, which have also contributed significantly to HMSI’s success. Additionally, the introduction of the new Shine 100 model has further bolstered the company’s growth in the highly competitive 100-110cc segment.
To facilitate this extensive reach, HMSI operates more than 1,200 outlets across these four states, effectively serving both urban and rural markets. In a recent statement, Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales & Marketing at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, expressed his gratitude for reaching this significant milestone. He extended his thanks to the customers for their unwavering trust and loyalty to the brand.
Mathur emphasized HMSI’s ongoing commitment to delivering reliable products and exceptional service, with a focus on catering to the diverse needs of its customer base. HMSI boasts a diverse product lineup that includes scooters and motorcycles across various categories. This range extends from entry-level models like the Shine 100 to more robust motorcycles in the 200cc segment, including the CB200X.
The company also caters to the premium motorcycle market through its BigWing network, offering models such as the CB350 and the Africa Twin. This significant sales milestone not only highlights HMSI’s robust performance in the Indian market but also reflects its dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction. As HMSI looks toward the future, it aims to strengthen its foothold in the two-wheeler sector while continuously engaging with its consumers.
