Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) reported a remarkable 45% year-on-year increase in domestic sales for May 2024. The company dispatched 450,589 units to its dealers last month, a significant rise from 311,144 units in May 2023.
In addition to the robust domestic performance, HMSI also saw a substantial boost in its export figures. The company exported 41,458 units in May 2024, up from 18,249 units in the same period last year. This marked a notable growth in HMSI’s international market presence. Overall, HMSI’s total sales, combining domestic and export numbers, surged to 492,047 units in May 2024, compared to 329,393 units in May 2023.
The company attributed this strong performance to several factors, including an uptick in consumer demand and successful market strategies. In a statement, HMSI highlighted the increasing popularity of its new models and the effective expansion of its dealership network across the country.
“The 45% increase in domestic sales and the significant rise in exports underscore HMSI’s commitment to delivering quality and innovation in the two-wheeler segment,” the company stated. “We are focused on maintaining this momentum through continued customer-centric initiatives and expanding our product portfolio.”
HMSI’s strong performance in May positions it well for sustained growth in the coming months, reflecting the company’s strategic efforts to strengthen its market position both domestically and internationally.
