HMS Networks has included the new Service Pack 2 for functionality extension of the Ixxat CAN@net NT and CANbridge series. Users can add versatile bi-directional MQTT-messaging and event-controlled, smart network actions to cloud applications. The novel hardware CAN@net NT 100 is complementary to the CAN@net NT range with novel network connectivity.
The Ixxat CAN@net NT and CANbridge NT product families seamless, smart CAN-based networks onsite and remotely. The CANbridge NT helps with easier coupling of up to four CAN-FD and CAN networks using translation and filter rules. Simplification of network wiring can be through star and tree topologies. Protection of all connected segments is due to electrically isolated bus interfaces. All CAN@net NT products are accompanied by an additional Ethernet interface to permit extremely distributed networks after coupling up to four CAN@net NT devices through the use of Ethernet. CAN@net NT products enable remote access to CAN and CAN-FD networks through the Ethernet and PC.
The novel Service Pack 2 has introduced the enhanced ‘Action Rules’ programming for flexible definition and execution of events and actions for all products that belong to CANbridge and CAN@net. On the basis of LUA script processing, triggering of such user-defined actions is possible. An example is the pre-defined message content or status information.
The CAN@net NT series has the Ethernet interface to facilitate direct cloud connectivity through the implemented MQTT protocol. In SP2, introduction of bi-directional MQTT messaging is done. Along with transmission of alarms and status information to mobiles, receipt of messages from the cloud is possible for LUA script-based pre-processing, plausibility checking, and transmission to the CAN bus.
CAN@net NT 100 is the new hardware introduced by HMS, which can render a D-Sub 9 network connector for CAN/CAD-FD connectivity to complement the existing CAN@net NT 200 and 420 products that include screw terminals. The older CAN@net II is succeeded by the CAN@net NT 100. This implies that the existing customers can exchange the installed CAN@net II units in the present systems with CANnet 100 NT and reap the advantages of the novel functionality of SP2.
