Hindustan Zinc Limited (HINDZINC), India’s largest zinc producer and the world’s second-largest, captivated audiences at the Rising Rajasthan Global Business Summit 2024. Themed “At the CORE of the Clean Energy Transition,” Hindustan Zinc’s exhibit spotlighted zinc, lead, and silver as essential components in sustainable development, showcasing advanced technologies and community-driven initiatives. The event, hosted by the Rajasthan government, drew widespread attention to the company’s innovative approach and sustainability efforts.
Prominent figures, including Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and international ambassadors, visited the interactive stall. The stall also showcased premium products such as high-grade zinc, EcoZen—Asia’s first low-carbon “green” zinc—lead, silver, and Udaipur-mined ore. Highlights included virtual tours of the world’s largest underground zinc mine in Bhilwara and the Chittorgarh smelter. Vedanta’s Cairn Oil & Gas complemented the display with demonstrations of drone technology and VR-based safety training. Live crafts sessions featured artisans from Hindustan Zinc’s community initiatives, while a VR football game celebrated the Zinc Football Academy, which has nurtured 8,000 young players in Rajasthan.
A major announcement came from Vedanta Chairman Shri Anil Agarwal, who unveiled plans for the world’s first Zinc Park, to be located near Hindustan Zinc’s plants in Rajasthan. Designed to power operations with renewable energy, the park will support businesses using zinc, lead, and silver while creating thousands of jobs and fostering economic growth.
