Hindustan Zinc and US-based AEsir Technologies have signed an agreement for Hindustan Zinc to supply zinc for AEsir’s next-generation batteries.
Zinc batteries offer a strong alternative to other energy storage solutions. They provide higher power at lower costs, need less maintenance, and can last up to 20 years, making them ideal for industrial use. They can operate in a wide range of temperatures, offer reliable backup power for 3 to 72 hours, and are built with safe, non-flammable materials. Additionally, they are recyclable, use non-hazardous materials, and have a much lower greenhouse gas footprint compared to other technologies.
Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said, “Zinc is crucial for a low-carbon future. Our partnership with AEsir Technologies is a step towards sustainable energy solutions.”
Randy Moore, CEO of AEsir Technologies, added, “Zinc batteries are leading the way in energy storage innovation. Our collaboration with Hindustan Zinc provides us with essential raw materials for developing advanced Nickel Zinc batteries.” The global energy storage market is expected to grow 21% annually, reaching 442 GWh by 2030, according to Bloomberg NEF.
