The 14-day event saw visits from prominent dignitaries, including Shri G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri V.L. Kantha Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, and Shri Sanjay Lohiya, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines. The company’s high-quality zinc products and innovative mining practices captivated engineers, students, and industry professionals alike.
A key attraction was the pavilion’s experience zone, featuring a cutting-edge VR simulator that provided a lifelike experience of operating Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM). This technology, the first of its kind introduced by Hindustan Zinc, is designed to train operators for underground mining, emphasizing safety and efficiency.
The display included samples of zinc and lead ores, premium products like Special High-Grade (SHG) Zinc, and EcoZen—Asia’s first low-carbon “green zinc.” Visitors were also drawn to historical exhibits, such as 2,500-year-old zinc retorts from Zawar, Rajasthan, where the company operates. The showcase traced the journey of zinc from mining to its applications in modern life, highlighting its significance in various industries.
The company also promoted its community-driven initiatives through Project Sakhi, featuring locally made products such as pickles, honey, ghee, and textiles created by rural women’s self-help groups. These products, aimed at empowering women, gained significant attention and support from visitors.
