Hindalco Industries Ltd, the metals flagship of the Aditya Birla Group, has announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. Consolidated EBITDA reached ₹8,673 crore, marking a 9% year-on-year increase. Net Profit rose to ₹4,004 crore, up 30% compared to the same period last year.

The India operations were a key driver of this growth, alongside a steady performance from its subsidiary Novelis. The India Aluminium Upstream segment posted an EBITDA of ₹4,080 crore, up 17%, while the Aluminium Downstream segment achieved a record EBITDA of ₹229 crore, a 108% increase year-on-year. Despite market challenges, Novelis reported a 1% growth in overall shipments, led by an 8% rise in beverage can volumes.

Managing Director Satish Pai stated that the company’s strong Q1 was underpinned by operational efficiency, strict cost controls, and a better product mix. The Aluminium Upstream segment maintained industry-leading EBITDA margins of 44%, while the Downstream business reported its best-ever quarterly performance. The Copper division maintained healthy profitability, aligned with internal forecasts, despite pressure from lower treatment and refining charges (TC/RCs).

He also highlighted progress in key expansion projects, including the Aditya Flat Rolled Products (FRP) facility, Aluminium AC fins production, and the Copper Integrated Growth Terminal (IGT), all of which are nearing commissioning. Hindalco continues to focus on sustainable operations, advancing initiatives in climate action, waste reduction, water management, and biodiversity.
