HIMA Group, a global leader in automation safety solutions for process and railway industries, has inaugurated its first facility in India. The launch event, held on November 21, brought together key figures from India’s industrial safety and rail sectors, alongside HIMA’s global leadership.

This milestone supports India’s Vision 2047 initiative, which aims to position the nation as a developed economy by 2047. Leveraging over five decades of expertise, HIMA aims to deliver localized safety solutions tailored to India’s industrial and rail safety needs.

The new Indian facility will cater to sectors like rail, chemicals, petrochemicals, and oil & gas, offering cutting-edge safety automation solutions. With a focus on digitalization and operational technology (OT) security, HIMA will develop applications designed to protect people, assets, and the environment.

HIMA plans to collaborate with local firms to drive innovation and workforce development. These partnerships will support India’s safety professionals, ensuring they stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market. Highlighting the significance of this expansion, HIMA CEO Jörg de la Motte stated, “Our presence in India is part of a long-term strategy to serve local clients better and contribute to the country’s industrial growth and safety standards.”

HIMA is aligned with India’s sustainability goals under Vision 2047. The company offers advanced solutions for renewable energy, green LNG, and hydrogen projects. Deepak Naik, Country Manager for HIMA India, emphasized the company’s focus on expanding customer partnerships in emerging sectors and integrating holistic safety systems into India’s evolving industrial landscape.

This facility marks the first phase of HIMA’s multi-year strategy in India. It will act as a hub for executing safety projects locally and exporting solutions across the region. The company’s collaborations with institutions like the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) aim to promote knowledge transfer, job creation, and the development of a skilled workforce in the safety and automation sectors.
