Hilton Metal Forging announced on Saturday that it has obtained RITES certification for the production of Vande Bharat and LHB wheels, a crucial step for the commercial production and fulfillment of supply orders. For FY26, Hilton aims to manufacture over 3,000 forged railway wagon wheelsets, with plans to scale up production to more than 12,000 units in FY27. The company has an installed capacity of 20,000 wheelsets per year, positioning itself as a significant player in the railway component supply chain and aligning with the government’s vision of a modern and self-reliant rail network.

Hilton Metal Forging Ltd has received approval from RITES Ltd, the Indian Railways’ primary quality assurance body, confirming the company’s ability to manufacture Vande Bharat and LHB forged wheels. This recognition positions Hilton Metal Forging as the first private MSME to achieve such approval under the Make-in-India initiative.

The certification is timely, as the Indian Railways undergoes significant modernization, including plans to upgrade 40,000 conventional rail coaches to Vande Bharat standards (LHB platform) in the near future. The Railways Budget for 2025-26 has allocated Rs 2.65 lakh crore towards rail infrastructure upgrades, underscoring the government’s commitment to this transformation.
