AI Breakthrough, a premier market intelligence firm that recognizes top innovations in the global Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector, has named HGS, a leader in technology solutions, cybersecurity, consulting, digital customer experiences (CX), and applied-AI business process management (BPM), the winner of the “Behavioral AI Solution of the Year” award at the 8th Annual AI Breakthrough Awards.

HGS has developed a revolutionary financial crimes detection system powered by AI. At the core of this system is the Psychometric Risk State Prediction Model, a groundbreaking tool that employs behavioral AI to create psychometric profiles. This model assigns a Markov state based on the user’s assessed risk level—categorized as Low, Moderate, or High Risk.

By analyzing changes in these risk categories over several months, the system predicts whether an individual will remain in the same risk bracket or shift in the coming month. This predictive insight, derived from historical data and customized metrics, is crucial for early-stage risk management and mitigation strategies.

In addition, HGS’s Keyword State Prediction Model maps out keywords from LLM-generated summaries and links them to specific semantic states. If a keyword reappears, the system stays in the current state; if new keywords emerge, the system triggers a transition. By leveraging Markov transition probabilities, it forecasts whether key financial anomaly themes will evolve, providing valuable insights into emerging fraud trends or behavioral changes.

“We are honored to receive the ‘Behavioral AI Solution of the Year’ award,” said Venkatesh Korla, CEO of HGS. “Our AI-driven models empower organizations to enhance their financial crime prevention efforts. Rather than reacting to incidents, our solutions proactively predict and guide necessary actions to prevent fraud and safeguard revenue. AI is not just a passing trend; it’s essential for securing financial integrity, building customer trust, and ensuring long-term success.”

The AI Breakthrough Awards recognize the most innovative companies, technologies, and products across a range of AI categories, including Generative AI, Computer Vision, AIOps, Robotics, Natural Language Processing, and more. This year’s awards attracted over 5,000 nominations from 20+ countries, highlighting the global significance of AI as a transformative technology.

“HGS is at the forefront of revolutionizing financial crime prevention,” said Steve Johansson, Managing Director of AI Breakthrough. “With billions lost annually to fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes, the need for sophisticated tools to prevent and detect these activities is greater than ever. AI-powered technologies can detect threats before they cause harm, offering the ability to protect both organizations and consumers. HGS is leading the charge in making the future of financial crime prevention smarter and more proactive.”
