HFCL Ltd has recently announced the acquisition of a significant order worth Rs 1,127 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL). This contract is intended for the overhaul of the Optical Transport Network (OTN) infrastructure spanning the nationwide network of BSNL.

The ambitious installation process is expected to conclude within 18 months, covering Supply, Installation, Commissioning, and Maintenance of OTN. This strategic endeavor solidifies HFCL’s reputation as a trusted and forward-thinking player in advancing communication infrastructure. The envisioned outcome of this visionary network is remarkable, as BSNL, fortified by this Optical Network upgrade, will boast an impressive data capacity of 12 terabytes, effectively meeting its data needs for the next decade. The backbone network, spanning 310 aggregation locations, will play a pivotal role in empowering 4G, 5G, and BharatNet services, positioning BSNL at one of the forefront positions of India’s digital revolution observed by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
