Hettich India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury furniture fittings brand, has announced plans to double its investment in the country within the next five years. Having already invested close to ₹2,000 crore over the past decade, the company views India as a critical market and a potential global hub for research and development.

Andre Eckholt, Managing Director for India, the Middle East, Africa, and SAARC, emphasized India’s growing role, stating, “We aim to make India a gateway to the world by developing products tailored for local and global markets.”

Hettich envisions India as a second manufacturing hub, complementing its operations in Germany. The company currently has manufacturing facilities in Vadodara and Indore, with one Indore plant fully operational and another set to launch by 2025.

The site has space to accommodate two additional factories, aligning with Hettich’s long-term expansion strategy. To enhance its market presence, Hettich operates 12 company-owned Hettich Experience Centres and plans to introduce franchise-based Hettich Exclusive Centres in tier-1 cities. Over the next two years, the company intends to establish 100 new experiential touchpoints across the country.

The Indian furniture fittings market, estimated at ₹10,000–12,000 crore for 2024, remains a key revenue driver for Hettich, with a portfolio of 15,000-20,000 SKUs. In addition to furniture fittings, the company is diversifying into door hardware and built-in appliances to drive incremental growth. With over 2,000 active dealership accounts in India, Eckholt emphasized strengthening relationships with existing partners to achieve sustainable growth.
