“India is a key growth market for us, and this new facility in Chennai strengthens our ability to serve customers with top-tier quality and service. At the same time, it aligns with our strategy to localize and optimize production,” said Martin Ohneberg, Owner & CEO of HENN Connector Group.

Chennai is one of India’s premier automotive hubs, offering a robust infrastructure, proximity to key clients, and a large talent pool in a metro area of over five million people. The 1,500 m² production facility currently has 12 employees, with plans to expand the workforce to over 100 as demand increases.

To further strengthen its presence in India, HENN has also set up an engineering office in Pune, a region renowned for its highly skilled engineering talent—an essential asset for the company’s development initiatives. The facility was officially inaugurated on January 15, 2025, with HENN Group CEO Martin Ohneberg and Sharath Sreekumar, Managing Director Indo-Pacific, hosting around 100 distinguished guests from business and government.

Notable attendees included the Austrian Ambassador to India, Her Excellency Katharina Wieser, Tamil Nadu’s Minister of MSME & Urban Development, Tha Mo Anbarasan, Austrian Deputy Trade Commissioner Kerstin Peckl, VDMA India Managing Director Rajesh Nath, and representatives from Mahindra & Mahindra. With this new facility, HENN Connector Group reinforces its commitment to the fast-growing Indian automotive sector, driving innovation and efficiency in localized production.
