Helukabel Group, a German company with over 40 years of experience in the cable and wire industry, has acquired a manufacturing plant in Gujarat, India, to manufacture cables and wires that meet Indian standards. Helukabel is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of cables, wires, and cable accessories, with 69 locations in 40 countries, offering over 33,000 stock items and custom cables.

Helukabel India Pvt Ltd, established in 2006, has been importing cables and wires from its parent company and distributing them in India. The company operates warehouses in Pune and Mumbai and serves around 1,500 customers across various industries, including automotive, OEM, automation, technology providers and several others.

The new factory in Gujarat spans 30,000 to 40,000 square feet and has an annual production capacity of approximately 100,000 kilometers of cable. Samiran Nag, Regional Sales Manager, West Region, Helukabel India Pvt Ltd, said, “We have already received orders worth Rs 60 lakhs, producing around 25,000 to 30,000 kilometers of cable.”

Mr. Nag also noted that the facility was acquired from an existing cable manufacturer, so no new machines or technology were needed initially. The company plans to assess the need for new machinery in the future.

Regarding profit expectations, Mr. Nag stated, “Until now, we had an annual turnover of around Rs 100 crore. With the new facility, we expect to grow by 20 to 30 percent annually.”
