TACC Ltd, a wholly-owned arm of HEG Ltd, has teamed up with Sri Lanka-based Ceylon Graphene Technologies (CGT) to set up a cutting-edge graphene manufacturing unit at TACC’s facility in India. CGT is a collaboration between LOLC Advanced Technologies and the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology.
This initiative follows a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between TACC and CGT to advance graphene technology and explore its diverse applications, according to a regulatory filing by HEG Ltd, part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group. HEG is a prominent manufacturer of graphite electrodes.
The new facility will focus on large-scale graphene production, catering to global demand for sustainable and innovative solutions. While the investment details were not disclosed, the regulatory filing emphasized the collaboration’s aim to combine Sri Lanka’s premium vein graphite with TACC’s synthetic graphite expertise to create high-quality graphene materials. Known for its unparalleled strength, conductivity, and lightweight properties, graphene is poised to revolutionize sectors like electronics, energy storage, coatings, construction, textiles, and more.
