HARTING Technology Group proudly celebrates the 80th birthday of senior partner Margrit Harting, who, alongside her husband Dietmar, has been instrumental in transforming the family business into a global technology leader. Over the course of more than 38 years, Margrit Harting has left a significant mark on the company.

Born on February 3, 1945, in Schötmar, Germany, Margrit pursued her studies in Business Administration across multiple European universities and graduated in 1971. After her academic career, she taught at Dr. Kohlhase’s private commercial school until 1979. In 1987, she joined HARTING as Managing Director, where she oversaw key departments such as Human Resources, Quality Management, and Public Relations. She became Managing Partner in 1990 and General Partner in 1996. Since 2018, she has served as a board member and partner of HARTING Stiftung & Co. KG.

Under her leadership, HARTING Technology Group, which will celebrate its 80th anniversary this September, expanded from a medium-sized company with 1,300 employees and DM 150 million in sales to a global player with more than 6,500 employees and annual sales surpassing EUR 1 billion as of 2022. In addition to her career, Margrit Harting has dedicated herself to various honorary roles, including serving as honorary chairwoman of the Philharmonic Society of East Westphalia-Lippe and the Minden-Lübbecke District Interest Group for Location Promotion.

Her contributions have been widely recognized, earning her prestigious awards such as the Federal Cross of Merit First Class and honorary citizenships from Leibniz Universität Hannover and Espelkamp. Margrit also served for over 20 years with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of East Westphalia, advocating for regional economic development.

Cultural initiatives have always been a passion for her, including organizing performances and supporting educational programs. She was key in modernizing Espelkamp’s Neues Theater and was an advocate for the town’s cultural landscape. Margrit Harting’s commitment to young talent led her to found the HARTING Research Award for primary school children and shape the NAZHA training center, enhancing the company’s apprenticeship programs.

Her husband, Dietmar Harting, reflects, “We are not just celebrating a milestone birthday, but a life full of dedication, courage, and enthusiasm—a journey marked by wisdom and strength, with many more chapters to come.”

HARTING Technology Group, a leader in industrial connectivity, employs around 6,000 people globally, with 42 sales companies, 14 production sites, and seven development centers. The company generated sales of EUR 940 million in the 2023/24 business year.
