The HARTING Technology Group is set to expand and modernize Plant 2 in Espelkamp, transforming it into a state-of-the-art Factory of the Future. With an investment exceeding €75 million over the next five years, the initiative aims to strengthen Espelkamp as the company’s leading production hub.
Currently, various production areas are spread across multiple plants at the Espelkamp site. The expansion will bring these operations together, fostering a centralized hub of expertise that enhances knowledge-sharing across teams. This consolidation will streamline workflows, allowing for more efficient collaboration and innovation. By bringing resources under one roof, the company can create a more integrated and agile production environment.
Additionally, the expansion will optimize machine usage and maintenance, improving overall efficiency and reducing downtime. Shorter production routes and better space utilization will further enhance productivity, ensuring a smoother manufacturing process. This strategic move aims to maximize operational effectiveness while creating a more cohesive and high-performing work environment.
Additionally, HARTING is exploring the expansion of its electroplating competence center in Biel, Switzerland, where it has been active for over 40 years. The restructuring will free up space at Plant 1, allowing HARTING to enhance its customer-focused operations and adapt for future growth.
HARTING is a global leader in industrial connectivity, with approximately 6,000 employees worldwide, operating across 42 sales companies, 14 production sites, and 7 development centers.
