HARTING, the Espelkamp-based technology group, has expanded its Automotive division by opening a new manufacturing plant in Silao, Mexico. The new plant will produce e-mobility solutions for customers in Central and North America, with the aim of shortening lead times and logistics routes while improving sustainability.
According to Marco Grinblats, Managing Director at HARTING Automotive, the company is “at exactly the right address in Silao” to meet customer requirements in the region. He added that the new production line will enable the company to supply its customers with the “accustomed HARTING quality.”
The new manufacturing plant was opened just months after the company moved into new premises for its production and office areas in November last year. The factory’s total area has grown almost fourfold since it first opened its doors in 2016. Numerous customers from the automotive industry were present at the inauguration of the new production line.
HARTING’s expansion into Mexico is part of its strategy to increase its manufacturing capacity and improve its global reach. The company already has production sites in Germany and Romania, and the new plant in Silao will allow it to better serve customers in the Americas.
