Hartek Power has secured an EPC contract worth approximately ₹353.77 crore for a large solar and battery energy storage project in Karnataka. The project includes a 280 MW AC / 410 MWp DC solar photovoltaic plant along with an 80 MW / 320 MWh battery energy storage system at Challakere. Hartek’s scope of work covers design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning, and one year of operations and maintenance.

The project comes at a time when India is increasingly focusing on combining renewable energy generation with storage to improve grid reliability and manage the variability of solar power. Battery storage is playing a growing role in enabling stable, round-the-clock energy supply.

Commenting on the order, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and CEO of Hartek Group, said the project highlights the shift toward integrated solar and storage solutions in India’s renewable energy sector. He added that the win strengthens Hartek’s position in utility-scale solar projects and marks a key step in the company’s expansion into battery energy storage.

Challakere is emerging as an important renewable energy hub, and the project contributes to Karnataka’s growing clean energy capacity. For Hartek, the order reinforces its ability to execute large and technically complex projects across regions, while supporting India’s broader clean energy transition. Industry observers note that hybrid solar-storage projects are expected to become more common as renewable installations increase nationwide.
