Hai Robotics has launched the HaiPick Climb, a groundbreaking robotic system designed to simplify goods-to-person automation in warehouses and distribution centers. This innovative solution allows for the easy retrofit of existing facilities, improving throughput while reducing implementation time and costs. Unlike traditional Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), HaiPick Climb offers an affordable and scalable alternative, increasing storage density and operational efficiency with minimal infrastructure requirements.
The HaiPick Climb system is built around the HaiClimber robot, a compact, intelligent climbing robot that operates in narrow aisles, retrieving totes from both sides of industry-standard racking. The system’s design makes it easy to install, operate, and expand, offering businesses a streamlined and cost-effective way to automate their processes. With only minimal modifications needed to existing facilities, HaiPick Climb is accessible to a wider range of warehouses seeking to improve their operations.
Richie Chen, Founder and CEO of Hai Robotics, said, “We created HaiPick Climb to help businesses automate without the complexity and high costs typically associated with traditional systems. This solution allows warehouses to achieve top-tier automation without needing significant changes to their infrastructure.”
HaiPick Climb operates by attaching climbing channels to one side of the racking, with robots traveling up and down to pick totes from both sides of narrow aisles. This single-side mounting reduces the need for complex floor preparation and allows for more efficient space usage. The system can be easily expanded, enabling warehouses to scale their automation efforts without disrupting operations.
The system eliminates human travel for order picking, automatically delivering totes to ergonomic workstations. The intuitive interface makes picking fast and accurate, with over 99% picking accuracy. The HaiClimber robots are designed for easy maintenance, with accessible components that don’t require specialized tools, making upkeep simple and efficient.
HaiPick Climb boasts exceptional throughput capabilities, processing up to 4,000 totes per hour in a 1,000-square-meter space. With speeds of up to 4 meters per second and climb rates of 1 meter per second, the system delivers totes to workstations up to 34% faster than traditional ASRS. This enables businesses to extend order cutoff times for same-day fulfillment.
The system also maximizes storage density, allowing for up to 30,000 storage locations in just 1,000 square meters. Totes can be stored as high as 12 meters, offering 35% more vertical storage capacity than other leading ASRS solutions. Narrow aisle widths further optimize space, reducing storage footprints by up to 75%.
“This isn’t just automation — it’s empowerment,” said Chen. “HaiPick Climb makes advanced automation accessible to everyone, allowing businesses to scale efficiently without the barriers typically associated with ASRS.”
