GW Instek Launches Comprehensive Smart Measurement Lineup to Support Advanced Industrial Testing

In response to growing global demand for industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, GW Instek has introduced a full suite of advanced measurement solutions aimed at significantly improving testing efficiency. The new portfolio includes the flagship GDM-9061 Digital Multimeter, the DAQ-9600 Data Acquisition System, and an expanded GDM-9000 Series, featuring five new multimeter models.

These innovations are designed to meet the needs of rapidly evolving sectors such as semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), and AI server manufacturing, helping reduce test cycle time by as much as 50%—and in turn, lowering production costs. GW Instek’s integrated ecosystem is engineered to support everything from laboratory R&D to automated industrial testing and inspection, aligning with its vision of scalable precision measurement “from seed to tree.”

As GW Instek’s latest flagship data acquisition platform, the DAQ-9600 offers a modular system supporting up to seven interchangeable input cards (DAQ-900/901/903/904/907/908/909). This design enables precise multi-parameter measurement—covering voltage, temperature, humidity, and impedance—on up to 120 channels (with DAQ-903), making it well-suited for battery pack evaluation and other high-density testing scenarios.

Compared to traditional multi-device setups, the DAQ-9600 streamlines testing by reducing both setup time and hardware complexity. Automotive production lines, which demand fast changeovers and consistent throughput, are key beneficiaries of this flexible system.

To meet the growing requirements for high-voltage applications, the DAQ-909 module extends the system’s voltage capacity, supporting DC 600V / AC 400V—a significant upgrade over standard 300V ranges, and ideal for modern power and battery systems.

Other features include a 4.3-inch color display, 6.5-digit resolution, and 0.0035% DC voltage accuracy, all within a compact, three-slot chassis designed for expanding application needs. The newly updated GDM-9000 series now includes five models—GDM-9041, 9042, 9052, 9060, and 9061—each tailored for applications ranging from basic diagnostics to high-end R&D testing.

At the top end, the GDM-9061 delivers 6.5-digit resolution and 0.0035% DC voltage accuracy, with a 10,000 readings-per-second throughput that significantly enhances test speed—especially for static parameter checks on semiconductors and power components. The GDM-9060 model also offers high-speed accuracy at 0.0075%.

The series features a dual-display layout, allowing simultaneous monitoring of current and voltage, helping reduce measurement time and operator error. For entry-level users, models like the GDM-9052 and 904x come equipped with AI-powered smart measurement capabilities. These systems automatically identify the signal type and adjust settings accordingly, preventing misuse and making the instruments easier to operate—especially valuable in training labs or environments with varying user expertise.

With its latest offerings, GW Instek is bridging the divide between benchtop instruments like the GDM-9000 series and scalable system-level solutions like the DAQ-9600. This ensures a smooth transition from research and design phases to high-volume manufacturing environments.
