Grid Dynamics Holdings, Inc will debut its latest robotic inspection solution, TPGen, at Automatica 2025, the international trade fair for automation and robotics, taking place in Munich, Germany, from June 24 to 27, 2025. Developed in partnership with robotics firm Wandelbots, TPGen is designed to improve efficiency in inspection tasks like welding, gluing, and surface evaluation in manufacturing environments.

A common challenge in robotic inspection is the time-intensive process of analyzing workpiece geometry, designing scanning strategies, and programming tool-paths. These steps often create delays and drive up costs. TPGen addresses this by automating those processes—reducing preparation time and simplifying deployment. It is built on Wandelbots’ NOVA platform, which supports streamlined planning, path creation, and execution through an integrated software application.

“This solution changes the way manufacturers handle robotic inspection,” said Ilya Katsov, Chief Technology Officer for the Americas at Grid Dynamics. “By generating optimized tool-paths directly from CAD models, we’re helping companies cut programming time from weeks to minutes while also reducing energy use and overall expenses.”

Katharina Jessa, Chief Revenue Officer at Wandelbots, added, “TPGen shows how our platform enables more adaptable and scalable automation. It simplifies robot path planning, significantly lowers engineering effort, and can be used across different robot brands.”

TPGen offers a powerful suite of features designed to streamline and enhance automated manufacturing processes. One of its standout capabilities is automatic tool-path generation, which allows the system to create optimized movement paths directly from CAD files, even for complex geometries. This significantly reduces the need for manual programming and shortens the overall setup time. TPGen also includes rapid feasibility checks that help users quickly determine whether a given task is achievable, saving valuable time during the planning stage.

The platform excels in smart optimization by continuously refining tool paths based on live feedback, resulting in reduced cycle times and lower energy consumption while maintaining quality standards. Its hardware-neutral design ensures broad compatibility with different robotic arms and camera systems, making it adaptable to various industrial setups. Additionally, TPGen supports custom integration with both built-in and third-party image and data analysis tools, providing users with the flexibility to tailor the system to their specific application requirements.

Attendees of Automatica 2025 can see TPGen in action at Wandelbots’ booth (B6.308). Live demonstrations will highlight how the technology can enhance productivity and streamline inspection tasks across different industries.
