Greenzo Energy India Limited has secured an order from Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), India’s largest stainless-steel producer, for the supply, erection, installation, and commissioning of an advanced electrolyser-based green hydrogen plant at JSL’s Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur, Odisha. The facility is being designed with an annual capacity of 472,409 kg of hydrogen, supported by complete balance-of-plant (BoP) systems.
Delivery is scheduled within six months of contract signing. On commissioning, the plant will produce 5,256,000 Nm³ of green hydrogen annually (approx. 0.47 KTPA), with a scalable design enabling future expansion up to 1.5 KTPA. The green hydrogen output will be deployed in stainless steel production processes such as the Bright Annealing Line and Bell Furnace, supporting JSL’s transition to green steel and reducing its carbon footprint. As part of the contract, Greenzo will provide end-to-end operational support, including 30 days of onsite training for JSL’s engineers and 11 months of remote technical guidance, ensuring seamless plant integration and long-term reliability.
Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director, Greenzo Energy India Limited, said “The trust placed in us by Jindal Stainless underscores our role as a committed hydrogen technology partner. Our indigenously developed electrolyser features India-made bipolar stack technology, produces hydrogen at 30 bar, and ensures ultra-high purity of 99.99999%. With integrated SCADA and AI-enabled automation, the system delivers both efficiency and scalability. We are proud to enable JSL’s clean energy roadmap and contribute to India’s Green Hydrogen Mission.”
For JSL, the project represents a decisive step in decarbonizing stainless steel production and aligning with global ESG benchmarks. For Greenzo, it strengthens the company’s growing order book and reinforces its position as a trusted partner to industrial leaders in clean energy transformation.
The order also coincides with India’s push to expand hydrogen infrastructure, with policy incentives encouraging industrial adoption. Integration of electrolysers into energy-intensive sectors such as steel, refining, and chemicals is expected to generate significant demand in the coming years—positioning early adopters like JSL and Greenzo at the forefront of the global clean energy value chain.
