Greenstat Hydrogen India (GHI) and H2Carrier, a Norwegian leader in floating green ammonia production, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance green hydrogen and ammonia projects across India and Sri Lanka. This collaboration also aims to explore the use of H2Carrier’s innovative floating production technologies.

GHI, established in 2020 by Greenstat ASA, focuses on the development and investment of green energy solutions aimed at achieving zero emissions. The partnership with H2Carrier will enable both companies to identify and develop projects, conduct feasibility studies, and implement production facilities for green hydrogen and ammonia. A key focus will be the utilization of H2Carrier’s P2XFloater technology, the world’s first floating green ammonia production system, offering an adaptable and cost-efficient approach to large-scale production.

Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chairman/CEO of GHI, highlighted that this collaboration is in line with the company’s mission to facilitate the global transition to clean energy. He emphasized that H2Carrier’s P2XFloater technology provides a sustainable way to produce green hydrogen and ammonia, harnessing renewable energy sources to offer flexible and scalable solutions for production and export.

H2Carrier’s CEO, Mårten Lunde, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, aiming to expand green ammonia solutions in key markets like India and Sri Lanka. The partnership seeks to explore opportunities for implementing floating production solutions that deliver both economic and environmental benefits, supporting regions’ efforts toward sustainable energy development. The collaboration is particularly focused on meeting the rising demand for green ammonia, a clean fuel and energy carrier that plays a vital role in decarbonizing industries like shipping, agriculture, and heavy industries.

The MoU’s objectives include conducting feasibility studies, securing financing for projects, and promoting scalable, sustainable energy solutions. Both companies are committed to supporting the global energy transition with innovative and environmentally friendly solutions, positioning green hydrogen and ammonia as key enablers of decarbonization.

Greenstat Hydrogen India (GHI) is a leading company dedicated to the development of green hydrogen and its derivatives across Asia and the Middle East. GHI plays a crucial role in providing innovative and sustainable energy solutions that support decarbonization efforts across various industries, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Founded in 2020, GHI is a subsidiary of Greenstat ASA, a Norwegian green energy company that develops and owns its projects while also investing in external companies driving zero-emission solutions and creating green value. Greenstat ASA is now part of Française De l’Énergie (FDE), a multi-energy producer focused on offering low-carbon footprint solutions.
